Head of Steel Design (m/f/d)
As Head of Steel Design, you will report directly to the Head of Design and Engineering and lead our steel engineering department. Your responsibilities include:
* **Managing and developing** a team of structural and steel design engineers (disciplinary and technical leadership).
* **Responsible for the design, calculation, and detailing** of steel structures for offshore converter platforms in all project phases.
* **Ensuring compliance** with all relevant rules, codes, standards, and offshore safety regulations (e.g. DNV, Eurocode, ISO).
* **Interfacing with other disciplines** (e.g. electrical, mechanical, layout, project management) as well as with external stakeholders and certifiers.
* **Monitoring and securing progress and quality** of engineering deliverables, ensuring alignment with project timelines and budgets.
* **Driving technical innovation**, process improvements, and standardization within the steel design team.
We are looking for a committed leader with strong technical and interpersonal skills. You should bring:
* A university degree in **structural engineering, mechanical engineering, naval architecture**, or a related discipline.
* **Several years of professional experience** in steel structure design within the **offshore, maritime, or energy infrastructure** sector – ideally with HVDC platforms or offshore substations.
* Proven **leadership experience**, including team management and mentoring in an engineering environment.
* In-depth knowledge of structural analysis, offshore standards, and steel fabrication requirements.
* **Fluent German and English skills** – both written and spoken – are **mandatory**.
