## Job Description
As **Head of Procurement Area Europe** you are a member of the Area Management Team Europe, you report directly to the Executive Vice President Area Europe and cooperate closely with the Corporate Procurement team. You drive the development and implementation of procurement strategies in our European countries and ensure supply chain efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
* **Lead and develop the procurement team** of the Area Europe as well as the **procurement contacts within our European country organizations** to ensure continuous improvement and deliver added value
* **Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives** to optimize cost savings and improve supplier performance
* Responsible for overall >180 million EUR procurement volume
* Establish and maintain **strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders**
* Oversee **contract negotiations and management** for major European contracts
* Implement and manage **procurement systems and processes** to enhance efficiency and transparency
* Analyze **market trends** and economic factors as a basis for procurement strategies
* Drive **continuous improvement initiatives** within the procurement function
* Cooperate closely with the Area Management Team Europe, Global Procurement as well as Corporate departments
* **Act as role model and promoter** of the Umdasch Group principles, Doka strategy and compliance for Area Europe
## Qualifications
* Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field
* Minimum 5-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management
* Proven leadership experience (enabling & empowering disciplinary and functional reports, inspiring others, management by objectives)
* Proven track record in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management and contract negotiation
* In-depth understanding of European procurement regulations and practices
* Strong knowledge of procurement software (SAP R3, S4 and SAP Ariba) and advanced Excel skills
* Demonstrated ability to drive results and achieve cost savings targets
* Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Excellent communication in English and German
* Willingness to travel within Europe
