At HARMAN Automotive, we give you the keys to fast-track your career. * Engineer audio systems and integrated technology platforms that augment the driving experience * Combine ingenuity, in-depth research, and a spirit of collaboration with design and engineering excellence * Advance in-vehicle infotainment, safety, efficiency, and enjoyment **About the Role** As a Hardware Analysis Engineer, you will play a key role in diagnosing and resolving complex field failures across customer projects, with a strong focus on the lower layers of the application stack—such as embedded operating systems and drivers—within infotainment, telematics, and audio amplifier systems. You'll be responsible for in-depth failure localization from the customer experience down to individual components, analyzing both analog and digital hardware functions. This position requires close collaboration with hardware and software engineering teams to coordinate investigations, report root causes, and propose effective corrective actions. **What You Will Do:** * Cross customer projects root cause analysis of field failures with emphasis on lower application stack e.g., embedded Operation Systems, driver etc. for our Infotainment system, telemetric and audio amplifier systems * Failure localization from customer view down to technical / component view * Analysis of analog and digital functional blocks (e.g., power supplies, audio blocks, microcontroller / SoC units, etc.) within complex hardware architectures * Responsibility for analysis tasks and coordination within HW and SW Engineering departments as required * Reporting of failure description, root cause and remedial actions **What You Need to Be Successful** * Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Computer Sciences or a related technical discipline * Minimum 3 years of industrial experience in automotive area * Knowledge in Hardware and Software of Automotive systems (Telematics, Infotainment, Amplifiers) as well as bus systems (PCIe, USB, Ethernet) * Knowledge of automotive networking (LIN, CAN, etc.), automotive diagnosis and flash tools * Excellent Knowledge of digital signal processing (DSP), preferably in audio signal processing, including DSP programming (e.g., Analog Devices and Texas Instruments) * Knowledge of DC / DC converters and digital circuits as well as EMC-compliant circuit design **Bonus Points if You Have** * Knowledge and hands-on experience with scripting languages, tools and operating systems (e.g., Linux, Android) will be preferred * Knowledge of problem-solving tools & techniques like 5-Why, Fishbone diagram, 8D or similar will be preferred * Well-structured and results-oriented * Very good analytical, logical and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication, coordination, and teamwork skills **What Makes You Eligible** * Business fluent in German and English **What We Offer:** * HARMAN offers a diverse and inclusive work environment that fosters and encourages career development opportunities, professional training and competitive market base compensation * You will also receive top-notch employee discounts on Harman’s Consumer Audio (JBL, AKG, HARMAN Kardon) and Samsung products * Flexible work schedule with a culture encouraging work life integration and collaboration in a global friendly working atmosphere and good work-life-balance * Attractive salary package based on the Metall & Elektro Tarif Baden Wurttemberg and an Employer contribution towards a company pension plan * Professional development opportunities through HARMAN University’s business and leadership academies which also includes extensive technical trainings * Internal talent management leadership acceleration programs * “Be Brilliant” employee recognition and rewards program **You Belong Here** HARMAN is committed to making every employee feel welcomed, valued, and empowered.
