##### About the Project
One of our unique educational initiatives is the **Frankfurt Spring School on Conservation Project Management (FSS)** – a four-week course held annually in Frankfurt that equips junior conservationists from around the world with practical skills for managing conservation projects. Organized in partnership with leading organisations in conservation, science and management, FSS has become a launchpad for emerging conservation leaders.
To support the ongoing success and growth of the Spring School and its Alumni Programme, we are now looking for a dedicated and organised **Frankfurt Spring School Officer (gn)** to join team in our headquarter in Frankfurt. This position is fixed-term for two years.
##### Your Tasks
As **FSS Officer (gn)**, you will play a key role in coordinating the Spring School and fostering the international alumni network. You will be part of a small, passionate team within our Europe Department and work closely with external partners, donors and facilitators. Your responsibilities include:
**Spring School Coordination**
* Support the planning and coordination of the annual FSS course and the 2027 FSS Alumni Meeting in Frankfurt
* Coordinate bookings (e.g. trainers, venues, services), and liaise with FZS departments, partner organisations and funders
* Facilitate the application process for the annual course and alumni events
* Ensure smooth communication with all stakeholders throughout the programme cycle
**Alumni Programme Development**
* Help design and implement the FSS Alumni Programme, including digital formats and a mentoring programme
* Maintain ongoing contact with alumni and strengthen the global network of FSS graduates
* Organise communication channels (e.g. newsletters, social media groups, alumni website content)
**Communication & Cross-Team Support**
* Collaborate with the FZS Communications Department to share FSS updates via various channels
* Support the broader Europe Department in selected cross-functional tasks
##### Your Profile
* A university degree or equivalent experience – preferably in conservation, biology, forestry, geography, environmental sciences or a related discipline
* Strong organisational and project management skills, with an eye for detail and a proactive mindset
* Experience in event organisation is a plus
* A strong interest in education, knowledge-sharing and helping others grow – be it through organising learning formats or fostering peer exchange
* Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); German language skills are an advantage
* Confidence in working with diverse stakeholders in a multicultural, international environment
* A hands-on, flexible work attitude – equally comfortable managing complex tasks and day-to-day details
