| **Your role and key responsibilities** |
| * Responsible for the technical design of the Battery Disconnect Unit (BDU/HV-Box) and other electrical components such as fuses, contactors, HV/NV connectors and cell connectors. * Definition of the general system architecture, technical requirements, suitable materials and components and specifications. * Design and implementation of cell-to-cell connections (HV+FPCB) in battery systems to ensure optimal performance, safety and proper communication and data transfer between cells. * Experience in electrical integration of the HV system with the Battery Management System (BMS) and the Power Conversion System (PCS). * Perform insulation coordination to ensure that the electrical components are safe under different operating conditions and to avoid breakdowns and short circuits. * Creating circuit diagrams and layouts in EPLAN or similar CAD tools. * Performing risk analyses and safety assessments to ensure that all electrical systems comply with applicable standards and regulations. * Ensuring electrical safety, including the implementation of protective measures against overcurrent, overvoltage and earthing. * Collaboration with other departments such as production, quality assurance, purchasing to ensure that products meet market requirements and are economically feasible. * Creation and maintenance of technical documentation, including specifications, test reports and user manuals. |

| * In-depth knowledge of battery technologies and understanding of the basics of electrical engineering, especially in the field of high-voltage technology. * In-depth knowledge of developing and analysing circuits, selecting and implementing fuses/contactors in high-voltage applications. * Knowledge of the requirements for insulation coordination in electrical systems, especially in high-voltage applications. * In-depth knowledge of risk assessment, failure modes and impact analysis for BESS. * Experience in using EPLAN or other CAE tools to create circuit diagrams and technical documentation. * Experience in performing electrical simulations (e.g. SPICE, MATLAB Simulink) to analyse the behaviour of HV components and optimise system performance. * Experience in the design, development and implementation of battery storage systems, including knowledge of sample stage design, test procedures and production processes. * Familiarity with relevant safety standards and regulations (e.g. IEC, UN, UL, ISO) as well as the specific regulatory requirements for BESS. |
