Date: May 27, 2025 Location: Salzgitter, DE Level of Experience: Professionals Job Function: Energy Storage Systems Job ID: 3759 # Expert EMS Software (all genders) **Your role and key responsibilities** * Programming and implementation of software for EMS that enables the monitoring, control and optimisation of energy storage systems. * Development of functions to monitor battery health, including temperature monitoring, state of charge, cell voltage and other key parameters. * Developing algorithms to optimise charging and discharging processes to maximise battery efficiency and lifetime. * Ensuring interoperability between the EMS and other energy management systems, network infrastructures and IoT devices * Perform functional safety analysis and design of software to ensure compliance with ISO 26262, Cyber Security ISO/SAE21434 and other relevant safety standards * Work closely with hardware engineers to ensure effective integration of algorithmic solutions into the EMS, including communication protocols such as CAN and Modbus * Perform testing and validation of the software to ensure it is reliable and error free. * Creating technical documentation, user manuals and training materials for users and technicians. **What you bring to the team** * Bachelor's degree or higher in electrical engineering, mechatronics, computer science or a related field * At least 5 years of proven experience in EMS SW development * Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Java or JavaScript * Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and embedded systems development * Familiarity with databases (SQL, NoSQL) for storing and managing energy data. * Experience with cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure) to implement scalable solutions. * In-depth knowledge of development processes according to ISO 26262 and ASPICE * Previous work experience in grid-connected or off-grid energy storage projects **What makes you stand out** * Basic knowledge of the energy market, grid integration, battery technologies, charging algorithms, energy storage principles and renewable energies. * Ability to analyse and visualise data in order to interpret energy storage performance data and develop optimisation strategies * Good knowledge of project management in order to plan and implement software projects efficiently. * Business fluent in English **What to look forward to** * Flexible working hours from 28 to 40h per week * Possibility of a 4-day-week (up to 35h per week) * 30 days paid + 10 days unpaid leave * Mobile work options * Relocation support * More benefits to come ## Are you a battery believer? ## Diversity, Equity and Inclusion We believe that the best results are created in a diverse and inclusive environment.
