# Customs and Trade Compliance Manager **Stade (DEU)** | **Full time** | **Hybrid** **About you and this role** The **Customs & Trade Compliance (C&TC) Manager** oversees the customs processes for Dow's legal entities in Germany and Switzerland, ensuring compliant trade activities for TDCC. This position is to be performed from our site in **Stade, Germany.** Acting as the focal point for businesses and other functions, you will provide advice and assistance on customs-related matters. With a comprehensive understanding of international trade compliance processes, customs and foreign trade regulations, and free trade agreements, you will represent Dow to various local authorities, including customs, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Ministry of Finance. Additionally, you will advocate for Dow with local associations like the German Chemical Industry Association and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, engaging in the development of best practices and standards to ensure compliant and cost-effective operations. In this role, you will need in-depth conceptual and working knowledge of your discipline, understanding best practices and their relation to others. You may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements, serve as a resource for less experienced colleagues, and explain difficult or sensitive information to build consensus. Your responsibilities include analyzing and resolving complex problems, examining information from multiple sources, and using judgment to evaluate established and new solutions. Your performance will impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams, requiring adherence to established guidelines and policies. **Responsibilities** * You will lead internal and external customs audits in Germany and Switzerland. * You will manage and implement compliance with international trade regulations for Dow goods and technology. * You will act as European AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) focal point within Dow, handling relevant authorizations and customs licenses. * You will implement new procedures and changes based on government audits and new regulations. * You will lead duty suspension initiatives with German authorities to generate cost savings and maximize value for Dow in Europe. * You will investigate regulatory implications for new business and material flows. * You will request licenses and ensure compliance with their conditions. * You will ensure full compliance of operations with trade compliance regulations in Germany and Switzerland. * You will organize and perform reports needed for regulatory requirements and continue analysis of business and material flows to determine best practices. **Qualifications** * **Educational Background:** A University Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or other related Sciences. * **Experience:** 6-8 years of relevant experience, demonstrating the knowledge and skills required for this role. * **Expertise:** A strong understanding of international trade compliance, foreign trade legislation, and customs regulations is essential. * **Language Proficiency:** Fluent in both German and English, enabling seamless communication in an international environment. **Your Skills** * **Negotiation and Influencing:** Proven ability to negotiate effectively and influence stakeholders at all levels. * **Communication and Interpersonal:** Exceptional communication skills with a strong ability to resolve conflicts and build consensus. * **ERP Systems:** Working knowledge of ERP systems, especially SAP GTS. * **Process Improvement:** Certified Six Sigma Green Belt, demonstrating expertise in process improvement and quality management. **Benefits – What Dow offers you** We invest in you.
