## Job Description
**Your responsibilities**
Are you a talented Computing Engineer with a strong interest in cloud technologies? Join the CERN IT Cloud team to contribute to the evolution of our OpenStack private cloud.
The OpenStack service is undergoing a major upgrade to modernise its infrastructure to offer advanced features to hundreds of users across the organisation. New technologies, such as Software-Defined Networking or Load Balancing as a Service are becoming a core pillar in the evolution of the cloud. Integrating them with the CERN infrastructure and adapting them to CERN's use cases will be key to exploiting their full potential for the scientific community.
In this position, you will:
* Drive integration of new technologies in CERN's private cloud.
* Contribute to the stable operation of service offerings at large scale like virtualisation, networking or load balancing as a service.
* Liaise with various IT teams to design new features and integrations.
* Work closely with the open-source OpenStack community to contribute improvements and bug fixes upstream.
* Support our user community on the adoption of cloud technologies.

**Your profile**
Skills:
* Essential to have: hands-on experience with Linux systems administration;
* Expected to have: experience developing with Python;

* Familiarity with virtualisation, configuration and container technologies (Openstack, Puppet, Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial;
* Knowledge of networking technologies is a plus (e.g. Open VSwitch, OVN or BGP);
* Spoken and written English, with a commitment to learn French.
Eligibility criteria:
* You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State.
* **By the application deadline,** you have a **maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation** in Computer Science or a related field (or a related field) **and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree**.
* You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
