By joining our B2B Retail Marketplace team as a Buyer you will create a real and lasting impact for the environment while working hand-in-hand with the founders to unlock the $3tr retail excess stock market and experience a scaling venture from day 1! ##### About the role This Buyer role is key to driving smatch’s expansion in the European fashion market. Focused on sourcing high-quality inventory at competitive prices, the role will build supplier relationships, negotiate deals, and work closely with our Leadership team. This position is vital for establishing a strong supply base and growing smatch’s market presence and will report directly to one of our founders. **Key Responsibilities:** * Source and secure diverse supply channels, including brands, distributors, and retailers. * Build and leverage personal networks to expand smatch’s sourcing options. * Establish and manage business relationships, ensuring consistent quarterly deals. * Act as contact for purchasing, managing supplier negotiations and decisions. * Oversee budgets to optimize purchasing prices and profitability. * Apply expertise in (off-price) fashion, footwear, and textiles to guide procurement strategy. * Maintain strong, loyal relationships with brand representatives and partners. ##### About you * Extensive experience in buying, specifically within the off-price apparel, footwear, and accessories industry. * Strong network within the industry and familiarity with alternative sourcing channels. * Comprehensive understanding of merchandise and category management across various product types. * Proven ability to negotiate effectively and close deals. * Proficiency in category management and merchandise management. * Proficiency in Excel. * Willingness to travel for meetings with brands and suppliers. * Fluency in German and English is required; Italian, Spanish, or Arabic is a plus. * Based in Hamburg or elsewhere in Germany, with regular visits to the office in Hamburg. ##### What’s in it for you * **Competitive Salary**: Receive a competitive salary package appreciating your impact at smatch with the benefit of overproportionally participating in the future value development * **Dynamic Team Environment**: Join a cross-functional, international, and diverse team.
