## Job Description Are you ready to take on a leadership role where you can shape the future of a dynamic, high-performing team? We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Director to drive growth, inspire a talented team, and play a key role in large-scale construction projects for renowned international clients across the region. As the Business Unit Director, Real Estate you will join our Commercial Real Estate business unit in Munich. In this role you will be a member of the Munich senior management team and lead a separate Business Unit with around 50 technical heads. You will be responsible for the growth, profitability and sustainability of the Business Unit through leadership, new business development, client management and service delivery. This role presents a unique opportunity for a progressive leader to build from a strong foundation, taking operations to the next level and to expand your career within a thriving company. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Project Management * Project execution assurance and quality * Maintain an overview of the status of projects, initiatives, and staffing, and where appropriate, highlighting issues of concern, and/or conflict and propose required actions. * Coordinate with project team leaders on project negotiations and execution. * Manage the resourcing of staff with project workload. Business Management * Manage the Business Unit operation and related activities within the approved budget, to include taking ownership of and ensuring that at all stages, client and consultant communication, analysis, and cost advice are performed effectively. * Liaise internally with senior management across locations to create synergy and improve on cross selling. * Ensure that key knowledge and learning generated from each commission is effectively managed and captured in the Turner & Townsend internal database. * Ensure the development of priority plans including risk mitigation, performance measurements, management controls and critical success factors. Team Management * Work closely with, and oversee the performance of, existing operational Project and Cost Management teams. * Provide effective line management to direct reports (around 7 people). * Coach and mentor staff, assisting them to achieve professional designations and career growth objectives. * Maintain effective communications with fellow Directors and staff * Manage staffing needs, including recruitment interviews, input into resource management and staff appraisals. Business Development * Develop and implement strategic and financial plans focused on the growth and development of the Business Unit. * Work with Senior Management team to develop strategies which promote Turner & Townsend in Munich, developing key partnerships within industry. * Manage new and existing client relationships in growing revenue through contract renewals, referrals and service expansion. * Attend relevant networking events and promotional opportunities. Increase brand awareness on the market * Construct bids for new work in concert with business generation and senior management. Financial Management * Negotiate contract fees ensuring profitable outcomes for Business Unit. * Utilize the tools provided to track the ongoing margin levels, monthly fee/resource forecasts for each commission and financial reports. * Ensure client invoices are accurate and issued on a timely basis. Following-up on accounts receivables. ## Qualifications * 15+ years of relevant technical and leadership experience overseeing large construction projects or programs; * Recognized university degree; * Experience managing commissions effectively and efficiently; * Previous consultancy experience is ideal; * Experience in building and developing strong relationships with clients and cross-functional team members; * Experience managing a local team and direct reports; * General operational line management responsibilities; * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, having the ability to communicate well with clients and senior management; * Business development experience with existing and new clients, including cross- selling opportunities. * German and English full proficiency is a must. ## Additional Information Our inspired people share our vision and mission.
