The Institute for Strategy, Technology and Organization is positioned in the field of Technology and Innovation management both in established firms as well as in new ventures. In research our focus is on open and user innovation, as well as new organizational forms. The following questions are examples of what we look at: How can companies best integrate external partners into their innovation processes? How will the innovative organization of the future look like, and what role may artificial intelligence (AI) play in innovation processes? Where and how do 'hotspots of innovation' emerge outside the boundaries of firms? We study the role of crowds in innovation processes, such as crowdsourcing, the wisdom of crowds and online communities. Our research is founded on economic, psychological and sociological theories.
