The **Applied AI Application Senior Professional** is a pivotal technology role responsible for defining the direction of AI applications, engaging in advanced AI innovation initiatives, and ensuring the successful deployment of AI solutions at scale within the Fire/Life Safety domains. This individual will combine deep technical expertise with strong mentoring skills to help teams, collaborate with stakeholders, and deliver transformative AI-powered applications across embedded and cloud technologies.
**Key Responsibilities:**
Strategic Direction:
* Deliver AI-enabled applications to customers within the European region.
* Co-define and drive the long-term vision and strategy for AI applications that span edge devices to cloud, aligning with the company’s business objectives.
* Stay ahead of industry trends and identify opportunities for AI to create competitive advantages.
* Champion the adoption of AI technologies across the organization, ensuring alignment with ethical and regulatory standards.
Technical Excellence:
* Lead the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge AI applications, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
* Oversee the selection and implementation of AI/ML models, algorithms, and frameworks to solve complex business problems that span embedded devices and cloud.
* Provide technical guidance and mentorship to AI engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional teams.
Innovation & Research:
* Co-drive innovation by exploring and prototyping new AI technologies, tools, and methodologies.
* Collaborate with research institutions, industry experts, and external partners to stay at the forefront of AI advancements.
* Publish white papers, case studies, or research findings to contribute to the AI community and enhance the company’s reputation.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
* Partner with leadership, product managers, and business units to identify high-impact AI opportunities.
* Communicate complex AI concepts and project outcomes to non-technical stakeholders, ensuring buy-in and support.
* Build strong relationships with external partners, vendors, universities, and customers to drive AI adoption and innovation.
Project & Team Leadership:
* Deliver AI projects as part of cross-functional teams, on time and within budget, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
* Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the AI team.
* Help manage resource allocation, budgeting, and risk mitigation for AI initiatives.
**Qualifications:**
Education:
* Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a related field.
Experience:
* 10+ years of experience in AI/ML, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or principal role.
* Proven track record of designing, developing, and deploying AI applications at scale in production environments that use embedded devices.
* Extensive experience with AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Scala).
* Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and AI/ML services and embedded frameworks for deploying analytics to constrained devices.
* Experience delivering AI-enabled products in regulated environments.
Skills:
* Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to tackle complex, ambiguous challenges.
* Strong educational abilities, with a focus on coaching high-performing teams.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.

* Experience in safety-critical industries such as healthcare or life safety.
* Knowledge of ethical AI practices, regulatory compliance, and responsible AI frameworks.
* A strong publication record or contributions to the AI/ML community (e.g., research papers, open-source projects).
