**What you will be doing:**
In this role you combine the responsibility of financial controller with leading a team in a geographical area. You act as a result driven team leader, responsible for monitoring, supervising and coaching a team of financial controllers in your (sub)region.
You report to the Director of Accounting EMEA and you work closely together with team leads and accounting managers that hold a similar responsibility for other businesses or countries. The responsibility of Financial Controller is to secure timely and accurate accounting and reporting of the legal entities in scope, both within US GAAP as well as in compliance with local requirements. The Finance Controller is furthermore responsible for the overall financial control activities at the location. This role involves managing a team of accounting professionals, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have extensive accounting experience, strong leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
**Responsibilities:**
**Team Leadership:**
* Manage the day-to-day activities of the team, managing team workload to ensure timely and accurate completion of tasks.
* Develop and implement a timeline to achieve targets.
* Delegate tasks to team members and facilitate knowledge sharing and cross-training within the team.
* Motivate the team to achieve organizational goals.
* Create a pleasant working environment that inspires the team.
* Lead and organize the accounting team with a key role in development and coaching
* Pro-actively seek cross region and cross function collaboration with peers as well as collaboration and partnership with other Accounting CoE teams, Global SSC, business controllership and operational functions
**Accounting & Reporting Close Effectiveness**:
* Responsible for timely, complete and accurate month end close process, including timely reporting to corporate and local management, ensuring proper supporting documentation is available
* Perform month end close activities in line with US GAAP and JBT-Marel accounting guidelines and implement new accounting and reporting requirements into systems and processes
* Ensure compliance with JBT Marel financial policies, SOX requirements and guidelines as well as local laws and legislation
* Responsible for statutory financial statements and tax fillings
* Coordinate internal and external audit requests, and lead efforts to remediate audit and control findings.
* Lead efforts to develop standard operating procedures and instructions surrounding accounting procedures for the team
* Implement new/ changing accounting and reporting requirements as instructed by Corporate
**Process Improvement & Strategy:**
* Lead close improvement initiatives within the Accounting CoE and defined (sub)region, developing project plans, coordinating cross functionally and with the project team and their efforts, and leading the team in executing the projects to successful completion.
* Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead the team in implementing best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness across the close and reporting processes.
