Tasks
- Set the long-term vision for the Commercial Learning and Development group
- Ensure resources are available to deliver the vision
- Build relationships with senior management as Learning and Development customers
- Facilitate connections with junior Learning and Development team members and internal customers
- Resolve critical strategic issues and facilitate discussions
- Collaborate with Commercial Operations heads to coordinate training components
- Establish procedures, systems, metrics, and infrastructures for training operations
- Develop and coach key functional staff
- Inspire a culture of empowerment and accountability
- Oversee return on investment issues for training expenditures
- Serve as a key member of the senior leadership team for Commercial Operations
- Lead the team to provide operational support to Sales and Marketing
- Support Market Research, Commercial Learning and Development, Business Operations, and Pricing and Contract Compliance
- Develop strong business relationships with key functional areas
- Provide strategy and infrastructure guidance for operational excellence
- Optimize allocation of human and financial resources across business units
- Drive long-term growth and evolution of the team
- Identify and focus on key metrics that drive the business
- Delegate responsibilities to subordinate managers and hold them accountable
- Translate business goals into specific objectives for team members
- Assess strengths, weaknesses, and styles of key players in the organization
- Identify industry trends and select data sources for strategic decision-making
- Influence senior management decisions on marketing mix using quantitative analysis
- Determine needs for new sales incentive compensation systems and processes
- Develop customized tools to support selling and sales management processes
