Requirements

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Energy Systems, Control Engineering, Computer Science, or closely related field
  • Robust background in energy systems modeling, optimization, forecasting algorithms, and control strategies
  • Strong proficiency in Python for advanced algorithm development, system modeling, and data-driven analysis
  • Knowledge of C/C++
  • Demonstrated experience in power system modeling and simulation (e.g., DigSILENT, Modelica)
  • BESS-specific experience with familiarity in BESS architectures, components, and operation
  • Direct experience with energy management algorithms for battery systems
  • Experience with SCADA systems or EMS/SCADA development
  • Understanding of European electricity markets, flexibility services, and grid operation
  • Hands-on experience with embedded systems, CHIL/HIL testing, or EMS development
  • Experience leading project teams and excellent communication skills for a multicultural, international environment
  • Professional experience with Linux operating systems

Tasks

  • Design advanced EMS control strategies for optimal BESS dispatch
  • Simulate and implement control strategies across various market conditions
  • Develop high-fidelity models of batteries and power conversion systems
  • Integrate management systems into ESS solutions for maximum performance
  • Create advanced optimization models and forecasting algorithms
  • Support multi-objective energy management initiatives
  • Contribute to EMS prototype design and testing in HIL/CHIL environments
  • Validate algorithm performance and reliability through testing
  • Provide insights into stationary energy solutions for European markets
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and BESS-controller teams for integration
