Requirements
- Master’s degree in computer science or comparable qualification
- Proven experience leading IT operations teams
- Strong process orientation
- Expertise in meeting demanding SLAs
- Solid understanding of IT operations metrics
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Solid knowledge of common Linux distributions
- Broad general IT expertise
- Leadership experience in IT services, software, hosting, cloud environments, or comparable internal IT operations roles
- Experience operating web applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- ITIL v4 certification or strong practical experience in ITIL-based environments
- Knowledge of PRINCE2 project management framework
- Skilled in using ITSM platforms
- Skilled in using asset management databases
- Skilled in using CMDBs
- Skilled in using monitoring systems
- Solid foundational knowledge of IT security
- Solid foundational knowledge of data protection
- Self-driven, structured, and accountable
- Ability to balance strategic and operational
- Willingness to participate in on-call duty
- Comfortable operating across strategic conceptual work
- Comfortable operating across hands-on operational tasks
Tasks
- Lead Service Delivery function
- Oversee 15 employees across Service Desk and Service Delivery
- Manage department personnel and budget
- Drive continuous process, tool, and organizational improvements
- Collaborate with central departments
- Lead international teams in Germany, US, Canada, UK, and India
- Work with external partners for follow-the-sun operations
- Oversee 1st and 2nd level support activities
- Handle customer requests independently
- Act as primary escalation contact
- Manage incoming customer requests via ticketing, phone, email
- Classify requests according to ITIL v4
- Manage request dispatching
- Ensure SLA-compliant processing
- Maintain Knowledge Management documentation
- Process in-depth functional requests
- Provide consulting and configuration for software products
- Reproduce issues on application level
- Ensure smooth operation of hybrid hosting environments
- Manage infrastructure, operating systems, databases, backup, monitoring
- Conduct predictive maintenance
- Handle technical change requests
- Support system integration during transitions
- Collaborate with DevOps and Product Management
- Evolve service portfolio strategically
- Participate in RFP and proposal reviews
- Assess technical and SLA feasibility
- Coordinate regular penetration tests
- Ensure ISO compliance in operational processes
- Work with IT security stakeholders
