- Exceptional communication skills for stakeholders
- Translating technical constraints into business value
- OCP (Open Compute Project) knowledge
- Leveraging OCP standards for custom hardware
- Security-centric procurement for distributed infrastructure
- Data Center infrastructure background
- Experience with hyperscale data center deployments
- Colocation provider negotiations
- Global logistics experience for hardware shipments
- Familiarity with international trade compliance and customs
Tasks
- Lead end-to-end negotiations with ODMs, OEMs, and hardware vendors
- Secure volume discounts and favorable terms
- Ensure priority capacity allocation during market shortages
- Build a diversified supplier network
- Mitigate geopolitical and logistical risks
- Develop contingency plans for critical components
- Build strategic partnerships with senior vendor levels
- Act as primary liaison between Proton’s engineering and vendor roadmaps
- Audit and overhaul existing procurement workflows
- Implement data-driven models for cost, availability, and quality
- Optimize purchasing efficiency and velocity
- Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams
- Define hardware specifications
- Validate technical requirements
- Ensure compliance with Proton’s processes and standards
