Senior Emergency Officer(m/w/x)

Description

You will lead rapid-response missions to global emergencies, coordinating vital protection strategies and partnerships. Whether deployed to the field or supporting from headquarters, you'll ensure a robust, rights-based humanitarian response.

Requirements

• •9 years relevant experience with Undergraduate degree, 8 years with Graduate, or 7 years with Doctorate
• •Degree in Business Administration, Social Science, Economics, International Relations or relevant field
• •Emergency Management certificate
• •HCR Snr Emergency Leadership certificate
• •Security Management Learning Programme certificate
• •HCR Management Learning Programme certificate
• •Previous job experience in emergency operations
• •Understanding of Transformative Agenda and Refugee Coordination Model
• •Team-building qualities and creative thinking
• •Good knowledge of UNHCR financial rules and procedures
• •Experience in providing and developing training materials
• •Knowledge of Age, Gender and Diversity (AGD)
• •Strategic Protection Framework development skills
• •Training and Capacity Building of Governments experience
• •Field Operations Management skills
• •Accountability to Affected People principles knowledge
• •Assessment of IDPs Status, Rights, Obligation skills
• •Coordination and Protection Cluster Coordination skills
• •Inter-Agency Standing Committee (IASC) knowledge
• •Proven coordination experience in country-level operations
• •Substantial UNHCR experience and IASC cluster knowledge

Tasks

• •Deploy to emergency zones within 72 hours
• •Lead and coordinate emergency response teams
• •Develop comprehensive protection and solutions strategies
• •Manage inclusive partnerships with government and NGOs
• •Oversee country-level emergency budgets and resources
• •Ensure compliance with financial rules and regulations
• •Design and monitor rights-based protection programs
• •Establish protection monitoring and feedback systems
• •Draft strategic response plans and funding appeals
• •Provide technical guidance on emergency protection issues
• •Implement SGBV prevention and child protection mechanisms
• •Conduct emergency assessments and preparedness planning missions
• •Represent the organization in inter-agency coordination forums
• •Evaluate emergency responses and share lessons learned
• •Manage operational risks and strategic decision-making
