Requirements
- Particle physicist with software skills
- Familiarity with HEP data sets
- Experience building libraries with C++, FORTRAN, Python
- Familiarity with large open source codebases
- Familiarity with ROOT and Key4hep ecosystem
- Proficiency in Python, C++, Git, CMake
- Familiarity with FORTRAN 77
- Flexibility to learn new tools
- Familiarity with Key4hep (Advantageous)
- Spoken and written English
- National of CERN Member State
- Background in Computer Science or Physics
- Master's degree or PhD
- No previous CERN fellow contract
Tasks
- Migrate ALEPH data into EDM4hep formats
- Optimize data extraction applications for performance
- Validate data chains using benchmark analyses
- Document migrated data and help tools
- Produce Monte Carlo events using legacy software
- Integrate recent event generators into workflows
- Investigate data migration for DELPHI and OPAL
- Support users and incorporate their feedback
- Present project results at relevant events
- Supervise students on specific project tasks
