Requirements
- Advanced university degree (master’s or equivalent) in International Relations, Political Science, Development Studies, Law, or Economics
- Additional certification in Diplomacy, International Negotiations, or Project Management
- At least 10 years of progressive experience in diplomacy, international cooperation, or policy analysis
- At least 5 years of experience at senior or representational level
- Proven experience engaging with multilateral institutions (UN, WTO, WHO, ILO, etc.)
- Demonstrated track record in advocacy, policy coordination, and partnership development
- Prior experience within intergovernmental or multilateral organisation
- Work experience in EU-funded program, entity, or agency
- Excellent knowledge of English (written and spoken)
- Excellent knowledge of French (written and spoken)
- Working knowledge of Portuguese
- Working knowledge of Spanish
- National of Member States from African, Caribbean and Pacific Regions
Tasks
- Represent the Secretary-General and Secretariat in Geneva
- Promote OACPS mandate and defend Member States' interests
- Strengthen OACPS participation in the multilateral system
- Enhance partnerships with UN agencies and other institutions
- Ensure compliance with organisational rules and regulations
- Manage funds and staff for office activities
- Act as primary point of contact for the organisation in Switzerland
- Defend OACPS Member States' views and interests internationally
- Align with the Samoa Agreement and SDGs
- Build strategic alliances for global decision-making
- Influence international policy and decision-making processes
- Provide expert advice to counterparts
- Monitor and assess implications for OACPS Member States
- Provide policy analyses, position papers, and briefings
- Coordinate OACPS participation in key thematic areas
- Monitor political, social, and economic developments
- Establish and maintain strategic partnerships
- Identify collaboration opportunities and joint initiatives
- Support OACPS participation in global initiatives
- Facilitate coordination among OACPS Permanent Missions
- Provide policy advice and technical support to Member States
- Organise consultations, briefings, and networking sessions
- Identify funding opportunities and cultivate donor relationships
- Support project proposal development
- Coordinate OACPS projects with Geneva partners
- Ensure program coherence and timely reporting
- Support implementation of OACPS governing bodies' outcomes
- Oversee administrative and financial operations
- Ensure compliance with OACPS procedures
- Supervise Office staff and set performance objectives
- Promote staff development
- Implement OACPS communication strategy
- Ensure timely communication with Headquarters
- Contribute to the annual report of the OACPS Secretariat
- Provide periodic activity and policy reports
- Ensure visibility of OACPS work through outreach
- Contribute to the OACPS website and communication platforms
- Perform any other related tasks as required
