Requirements

Tasks

  • Shape aviation policy and defend member interests globally
  • Develop and promote advocacy positions on high-priority issues
  • Ensure consistency of IATA’s advocacy positions globally and regionally
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to understand advocacy challenges
  • Identify and agree on advocacy priorities at global, regional, and national levels
  • Develop and manage a global advocacy strategy
  • Track progress and identify interventions for strategy delivery
  • Develop advocacy positions and supporting content
  • Disseminate advocacy positions and materials to campaign teams
  • Support business units and regional offices in advocacy campaigns
  • Develop and maintain an evidence base for advocacy efforts
  • Build a network of contacts with international organizations and thought leaders
  • Ensure accessibility laws balance disability support and operational realities
  • Focus on wheelchair handling, accessible lavatories, seating, and website design
  • Lobby for harmonized digital identity and passenger data management tools
  • Advocate against government regulations that impede international air travel
  • Promote a competitive infrastructure and regulatory framework
  • Focus on airport charges, ATM resilience, ATC fees, and ground handling costs
  • Ensure cargo and customs regulations are fit for purpose
  • Address security screening and customs clearance requirements
  • Work with ICAO and governments on safety and security priorities
  • Focus on equipage mandates, RFI, operational restrictions, and security policy harmonization
  • Promote policies to accelerate SAF production and deployment
  • Support robust CORSIA implementation and Net Zero 2050 goals
