Acoustic Engineer(m/w/x)
Managing 24/7 noise monitoring infrastructure and conducting night-time surveys for a nuclear research organization. Hands-on experience with CadnaA and 24/7 monitoring system management required. 30 days paid leave, 2 weeks annual closure.
Requirements
- Proven experience in acoustics or related field, preferably in consultancy
- Experience in environmental noise surveys, advanced monitoring techniques
- Experience in setup, calibration, maintenance, data management of 24/7 monitoring systems
- Proficiency in analysing, visualising large datasets using Excel or Power BI
- Hands-on experience with environmental noise modelling software (CadnaA)
- Proficiency in analysing, visualising large acoustic datasets using Excel or Power BI
- Strong ability to produce high-quality acoustic, environmental noise reports
- Spoken and written English or French, commitment to learn the other
- Nationality of CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Professional background in Acoustics, Vibrations or equivalent/related field
- Master's degree with 2-6 years post-graduation experience OR PhD with no more than 3 years post-graduation experience
- No prior CERN fellow or graduate contract
- Valid driving licence
Tasks
- Manage and upgrade 24/7 noise monitoring infrastructure.
- Interpret monitoring data.
- Produce detailed noise reports for stakeholders.
- Conduct noise surveys in various settings, including at night.
- Model noise impacts using acoustic software.
- Lead noise studies for environmental, building, and workplace projects.
- Investigate noise complaints.
- Raise awareness of environmental noise issues among stakeholders.
