Requirements

  • Master's degree or equivalent experience
  • HPC or batch systems support experience (SLURM, HTCondor)
  • Configuration management systems knowledge (Puppet, Chef, Ansible, Terraform)
  • Distributed systems monitoring knowledge
  • System administration knowledge (Linux)
  • User relations and support experience
  • User requirements definition experience
  • Programming techniques and languages (Python, Go)

Tasks

  • Manage onsite High-Performance Compute (HPC) SLURM clusters
  • Ensure service delivery for SLURM HPC clusters
  • Act as primary service manager and technical lead
  • Serve as escalation point for user support requests
  • Gather user requirements and usage best practices
  • Configure, upgrade, and monitor HPC clusters
  • Provide ongoing cluster maintenance
  • Ensure high resource utilization via HTCondor brokered backfill
  • Define procedures and best practices for operational support
  • Identify synergies for compute resource management
  • Facilitate access to high-performance compute resources
