Anforderungen
- Ability to lift 40 lbs. without assistance
- Cleanroom compliance (no hair products, jewelry, makeup, nail polish, perfume, exposed piercings, facial hair etc.)
- Laboratory setting experience
- Office environment experience
- Use of PPE (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.)
- Work with hazardous/toxic materials
- Expert knowledge of scientific principles in Fourier-transform mass spectrometry
- Strong expertise in Orbitrap mass spectrometry technology
- Strong understanding of mass spectrometry physics, ion motion, ion optics, and charged-particle dynamics
- Experience with SIMION or comparable ion-optical simulation tools
- Knowledge and practical experience with quadrupole mass spectrometry and/or quadrupole ion optics
- Experience with Sector Field mass spectrometry, isotope ratio measurements, high-precision isotope determination, ICP-based ion sources, ICP-MS, or Trace Elemental Analysis
- Experience with ANSYS or engineering simulation tools
- Previous experience as a Technical Lead or technical leadership role
- Strong scientific curiosity

Aufgaben
- Drive innovation and lead new product development within an existing platform
- Contribute scientific and technical expertise to next-generation mass spectrometry technologies
- Develop and advance Orbitrap-based technologies
- Address scientific and technological challenges in isotope analysis, ion optics, and mass analyzer technology
- Drive critical technical decisions in New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI) projects
- Guide interdisciplinary teams through development from research to production
- Moderate, lead, and facilitate product development projects
- Collaborate with global sites to achieve common goals
- Work at the interface of mass spectrometry, ion physics, ion optics, instrument development, and analytical applications
- Guide, support, and technically lead teams of scientists and engineers
- Prioritize experiments, analyze and interpret data
- Develop new concepts and define software requirements
- Solve complex scientific and technical problems
- Develop, characterize, and optimize Orbitrap-based mass spectrometry technologies
- Apply understanding of ion motion, ion optics, mass analysis, and Fourier-transform mass spectrometry
- Translate scientific concepts into robust analytical instrumentation
- Derive detailed technical specifications with cross-functional teams
- Contribute to all stages of product development, from research to production
- Foster collaborative and evidence-based decision-making in NPDI projects
- Plan, execute, and document experiments
- Develop verification strategies, test plans, and technical reports
- Provide scientific and technical guidance for system and subsystem requirements
- Coordinate knowledge transfer to Operations, Product Support, Applications, and Field Service teams
- Lead and empower technical professionals in a collaborative environment
- Conceive and implement feasibility studies for new hardware
- Ensure high experimental quality and theoretical understanding throughout product development
- Develop solutions and execution strategies for complex challenges
- Provide scientific and technical direction throughout the product development process
- Cultivate a culture of high experimental quality and theoretical understanding
- Leverage diverse perspectives to develop solutions for novel issues
- Create and maintain comprehensive and transparent documentation
- Utilize IP principles to protect inventions
- Write patents, publications, and presentations
- Communicate development progress verbally and in writing
- Interact with external customers and collaborators
