Requirements
- Valid (FAA) A&P Certificate or FCC License with Elements 1 and 3
- Two years' aviation maintenance experience
- Two years of hands-on Avionics Mechanic experience on CH47
- US Citizenship
- High School Graduate or equivalent
- Five years of recent applicable aircraft maintenance experience
- FAA A&P or FCC Elements 1 and 3
- One year of experience inspecting CH-47 aircraft
- Five years of experience as an Aircraft Inspector on CH-47
- Five years career total Aviation maintenance experience
- Good communication skills
- Working knowledge of electrical, electronic, mechanical systems
- Knowledge of Quality Control, Production and Supply procedures
- Ability to determine faulty systems or assemblies
- Skill in reading, applying, and interpreting technical data
- Ability to work in tiring and uncomfortable positions
- Ability to frequently lift parts and equipment up to 20 pounds
- Ability to occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds
- Immediate deployability to potential combat areas worldwide
Tasks
- Perform repairs on avionics and electrical systems
- Troubleshoot aircraft navigation and communication systems
- Install and remove avionics equipment like radar and radios
- Inspect and test electrical wiring and cables
- Cut and strip wires, and insulate connections
- Assemble components such as switches and junction boxes
- Prepare aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks
- Conduct scheduled and special inspections
- Perform operational checks and diagnose aircraft systems
- Use and maintain special tools and ground support equipment
- Communicate effectively and adapt to troubleshooting needs
- Apply knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
- Understand Quality Control and Production procedures
- Determine repair needs for faulty systems or assemblies
- Read and interpret technical data accurately
