Structural evaluations and design optimization for aircraft components at a global aerospace manufacturer, using FEM for sizing and substantiation. Requirements
- Master's degree in Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar
- Practical experience in Statics and Fatigue within Aerospace
- Basic knowledge of strength justification methods (analytical methodologies and FEM) for metal and composite materials
- Basic experience in programming, e.g. Python
- Sense of responsibility and teamwork skills
- Language skills in German and English at negotiation level
- Awareness of compliance risks and commitment to integrity
Tasks
- Conduct structural evaluations and stress analyses during development phases
- Optimize designs for strength, fatigue life, weight, and cost
- Perform sizing and strength substantiation using hand calculations and FEM
- Prepare test programs and test orders, and supervise tests
- Create justification reports for static strength and fatigue
- Determine and justify service life, inspection, and maintenance intervals
- Address manufacturing deviations and define rework and repairs
- Manage customer service requests
