Senior/Staff Quantum Engineer, Readout & Reset(m/w/x)

Description

As a technical leader, you will drive the development of advanced readout technologies while mentoring engineers to ensure the company's quantum processors meet the rigorous demands of error correction.

Requirements

• •Background in theoretical and experimental physics
• •Expertise in superconducting quantum circuits
• •Background in cryogenic microwave engineering
• •Strong background in software engineering
• •Problem solving and technical leadership skills
• •Excellent communication and documentation skills
• •Experience mentoring and developing engineers
• •PhD in Physics or equivalent experience
• •Experience in quantum hardware or R&D
• •Experience with quantum error correction
• •Leadership in multi-project environments
• •Relevant publications or technical presentations
• •Experience with nonstandard readout architectures

Tasks

• •Advance readout and reset techniques for superconducting quantum computers
• •Research and improve mid-circuit and terminal readout performance
• •Support calibration automation and benchmarking workflows
• •Develop calibration routines for measurement operations
• •Characterize near-quantum-limited parametric amplifiers
• •Design and optimize qubit reset protocols for QEC
• •Identify performance bottlenecks and lead cross-team resolutions
• •Provide structured feedback on QPU quality to fabrication teams
• •Advise system engineering teams on readout hardware
• •Mentor quantum engineers at the project and team level
• •Perform regular calibration activities across device architectures
• •Document and report results for technical and non-technical stakeholders
