Senior Network Manager - Backend(m/w/x)
Installing and maintaining automation systems, monitoring connections for DOD infrastructure. 7 years system administration experience and DOD clearance essential. Flexible time off.
Requirements
- Current US Citizenship with Active TS/SCI Clearance
- BS/BA degree or equivalent, 12 months training, 7 years network management and system administration experience
- Ability to pass required certifications/clearance for DOD network
- Extensive knowledge of digital routers, bridging functions, communication servers, Ethernets, network protocols (TCP/IP), patch panels, Windows, LINUX, UNIX, IP addressing, subnetting, system security procedures, Government networks (DSNET 1, DSNET 3)
- Expert knowledge of network interfaces, appliqués, and router configuration
- Expert knowledge of Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) functions and capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to install, configure, troubleshoot CISCO and other routers in multi-protocol inter networks (US Government networks) in global WAN
- Ability to liaison with engineering departments and DoD work centers for critical response
Tasks
- Analyze system functions and failures
- Isolate and define problem areas
- Install, configure, integrate, and maintain automation systems
- Monitor network connection reachability
- Adhere to circuit restoral priorities
- Initiate troubleshooting to restore network capability
- Monitor system performance and usage
- Analyze system load, usage, and response trends
- Analyze user traffic flow
- Recommend user assignments to optimize backbone links
- Manage a router-based network with three separate subnets
- Manage IP addresses for numerous sites
- Adjust routing protocols for optimum performance
- Provide on-site and telephonic technical services
- Perform network system diagnostic analysis
- Identify and troubleshoot faulty network devices and modules
- Troubleshoot network problems and outages
- Prepare documentation of troubleshooting actions
- Maintain system configuration database for software and hardware
- Analyze and prepare reports recommending network enhancements
- Support deployed US Army systems
- Deploy for quick reaction technical support
- Support worldwide military contingency missions
- Lead and perform activities for network efficiency
- Provide timely and quality customer support
