Requirements

  • BS/BA degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent
  • Twelve months training
  • Seven years demonstrated experience in network management procedures and system administration
  • Ability to pass required certifications/clearance requirements for DOD network
  • Extensive knowledge of digital routers, bridging functions, communication servers, Ethernets, network protocols (TCP/IP), patch panels, Windows, LINUX and UNIX operating systems, IP addressing and subnetting, system security procedures, and Government networks
  • Expert level knowledge of network interfaces and proper configuration of routers
  • Expert level knowledge of Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) functions and capabilities
  • Demonstrated ability to install, configure and troubleshoot CISCO and other routers in multi-protocol inter networks
  • Ability to liaison with local, deployed, and CONUS engineering departments and DoD work centers

  • Analyze system functions and failures
  • Install, configure, integrate, and maintain automation systems
  • Monitor network connections and initiate troubleshooting
  • Track system performance and develop trend analysis
  • Analyze user traffic flow and recommend router assignments
  • Manage a router-based network with three separate subnets
  • Manage IP addresses and adjust routing protocols for performance
  • Provide on-site and telephonic technical services
  • Perform diagnostic analysis and troubleshoot network issues
  • Maintain a system configuration database for modifications
  • Prepare reports recommending network enhancements
  • Support US Army systems on-site and during deployments
  • Ensure peak efficiency of shift and network operations
  • Deliver timely and quality support to customers and affiliates
