Senior DSP Engineer — AdTech(m/w/x)

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Experience building low-latency, high-QPS services
• Proficiency in Java and/or Go
• Understanding of distributed systems fundamentals
• Experience operating production services on AWS
• Experience with real-time data stores
• Strong debugging and profiling skills
• Clear communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to explain complex systems
• Hands-on DSP / RTB experience
• Experience with pacing and budgeting systems
• Experience integrating real-time ML ranking
• Experience building privacy-aware systems
• Experience operating extremely high-scale systems
• Kubernetes familiarity or Linux networking knowledge

Tasks

• Design and build core DSP bidder components
• Handle high-QPS bid request ingestion and filtering
• Manage data enrichment and decisioning processes
• Generate bid responses within strict time budgets
• Implement auction logic and campaign eligibility
• Apply targeting constraints and frequency controls
• Execute supply quality checks and policy enforcement
• Optimize p99 latency and tail behavior
• Manage timeouts, backpressure, and concurrency control
• Utilize efficient serialization and caching strategies
• Manage memory and garbage collection carefully
• Build and extend pacing and budget management logic
• Implement spend controls and throttling
• Develop goal-based pacing and safety constraints
• Integrate with control-plane services and campaign configurations
• Integrate real-time model scoring and feature retrieval
• Manage production guardrails like shadow mode and A/B tests
• Implement canaries, circuit breakers, and fallbacks
• Define SLOs and observability metrics
• Utilize tracing and structured logging
• Participate in on-call rotations
• Drive post-incident improvements
• Build and operate services on AWS
• Partner on cost and performance optimization
• Drive technical direction for the bidder stack
• Define interfaces, service boundaries, and performance budgets
• Mentor engineers through design and code reviews
