Senior Business Development Director, Micronization(m/w/x)
Securing new API micronization contracts and growing existing CDMO relationships. 10+ years pharma BD/sales experience with scientific background required. Company car for private use.
Requirements
- BA/BS degree in scientific, business, or related field (MS, MBA, or Ph.D. preferred)
- Minimum 10 years business development/sales experience with scientific/technical background in pharmaceutical contract service sales (CDMO), API manufacturing, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industries
- Experience/understanding of proposal development, business quotes, budgeting, and managing to timelines
- Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiating skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; Salesforce.com experience is a plus
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
- Ability to interact effectively with scientists and technical staff (customers and internal)
- Proven track record with new account penetration
- Proven ability to organize and plan work, manage travel, and balance multiple priorities
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%
Tasks
- Evaluate and assess contract development and manufacturing opportunities for micronization business
- Identify, negotiate, and secure new business for micronization of APIs
- Manage business relationships and grow business with existing customers
- Identify, qualify, and pursue micronization business opportunities
- Identify key account decision-makers and influencers
- Prepare for customer calls and visits, addressing barriers
- Document and validate customer needs before presenting solutions
- Prepare and present quotations for project development work
- Negotiate development and commercial supply agreements
- Manage customer relationships, including pricing and contract extensions
- Prioritize time on high-impact opportunities
- Understand customer decision-making processes and key stakeholder needs
- Set account objectives and develop plans to achieve them
- Cross-sell other Catalent service offerings
- Define alternative solutions attractive to Catalent
- Represent business unit service offerings to Global Account Teams
- Participate in internal sales training and trade shows
- Research customer R&D programs
- Present micronization service offerings confidently
- Communicate compellingly and demonstrate value
- Identify opportunities for innovation through discussions and analyses
- Evaluate sales results and trends for assigned accounts
- Contribute to territory business plans
- Maintain communication with internal teams for coordinated account management
- Use structured and unstructured communication for account management
- Respond rapidly to customer inquiries and issues
- Perform other assigned tasks
