Requirements

- APICS certification in production and inventory management (CPIM) or comparable training with supply chain focus
- At least 5 years experience in integrated materials management functions within manufacturing
- Experience implementing lean concepts, MRP manufacturing processes, and advanced supplier relationships
- At least 3 years leadership experience
- Focus on standardizing planning and execution, reducing procurement complexity, and developing talent
- Extensive experience in materials planning and procurement within mechanical engineering company (low volumes - high mix)
- Experience in operations, inventory management, MRP, and lean manufacturing processes
- Experience with visual management systems
- Fluent German
- English at least B2 level
Tasks
- Plan and control direct materials
- Develop materials strategy and project initiatives
- Enable lean and continuous improvement in material flow
- Manage materials department indirect labor productivity
- Optimize materials management activities
- Schedule production and purchasing
- Control inventory and materials movement
- Measure supplier performance
- Manage indirect materials
- Implement and support Materials and SIOP standard work
- Facilitate interaction with Sourcing, Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Accounting, and Quality Assurance
- Develop and drive countermeasures for underperforming processes and suppliers
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel
- Drive improvement initiatives like digitizing planning and demand reporting
- Manage supplier deliveries and inventory in a Lean environment
- Plan, evaluate, organize, integrate, and delegate tasks
- Assign jobs based on staff requirements
- Support Global Procurement Commodity Leaders in supplier selection
- Develop and implement professional development programs
- Align production plan with SIOP consensus plan
- Improve supplier relationships
- Perform other assigned duties
