Requirements

  • •Experience supporting military planning at theater, operational, or tactical levels
  • •Experience leading joint planning teams, operational planning teams, and battle rhythm events
  • •Experience planning large-scale events with military headquarters staff elements
  • •Experience with Joint Planning Process, Navy Planning Process, Marine Corps Planning Process, or Military Decision-Making Process
  • •Knowledge of U.S. Marine Corps organization and structure
  • •Knowledge of naval and joint doctrine
  • •Ability to coordinate across staff functions and command echelons
  • •Ability to brief senior-level customers
  • •Secret clearance
  • •Bachelor's degree
  • •TS/SCI clearance
  • •Master's degree
  • •Completion of Maritime Operational Planners Course
  • •Completion of Joint Professional Military Education Phase 1 and 2, Joint Advanced Warfighting School, Maritime Advanced Warfighting School, School of Advanced Warfighting, School of Advanced Military Studies, or similar Course
  • •Eligibility for access to classified information; Secret clearance required

Tasks

  • •Support operational planning for maritime campaigns
  • •Develop schedules and action plans for coordination and collaboration
  • •Analyze Marine Corps contributions to USAFRICOM and USEUCOM support plans
  • •Evaluate personnel and command and control (C2) requirements for naval operations
  • •Conduct cross-echelon analysis of C2 and organizational structures
  • •Organize and monitor key actions and milestones for planning teams
  • •Participate in exercises and working groups for naval integration
  • •Recommend courses of action and command relationships at the operational level
  • •Provide expertise on doctrine and concepts of operation
  • •Describe capability requirements to assist decision-makers
  • •Identify and document issues related to doctrine, training, and policy
