Tasks
- Lead and develop the Product Engineering team
- Establish and manage Product Engineering processes
- Conduct design freezes
- Manage pilot series
- Implement iterative improvement loops
- Enforce process freezes and volume gates
- Coordinate cross-functionally with R&D, Operations, Supply Chain, and Product Management
- Clarify technical issues
- Prioritize tasks and resources
- Ensure delivery against timelines and cost targets
- Communicate transparently on technical feasibility, risks, timelines, and costs
- Manage BOM and continuous improvement
- Drive continuous product improvements after process freeze
- Identify and close process gaps between R&D and Operations
- Oversee realization of SCS solutions
- Coordinate technical planning, construction, and production
- Facilitate lessons-learned sessions after major SCS projects
- Contribute to strategic initiatives
- Develop ERP and PLM systems
- Manage modularization and variant management
- Digitalize technical processes and workflows
- Manage Product Engineering-related change and improvement processes
- Coordinate compliance activities for new products
- Handle compliance challenges and escalations
- Maintain compliance documentation
- Support CE and EMC/EMV-related activities
- Coordinate contributions from other departments
- Act as internal interface to compliance experts
- Support release processes requiring external compliance sign-off
- Take responsibility for internal production quality standards
- Establish systems to track, analyze, and evaluate test and measurement data
- Ensure quality processes support production
- Coordinate and support production in case of quality issues
- Act as R&D’s interface to the ISO responsible person
- Support process mapping and version control
- Identify and close R&D process gaps in line with ISO requirements
- Drive completion of documentation gaps within Product Engineering
- Coordinate closure of documentation gaps across R&D
