Flight Safety Engineer(m/w/x)
Flight safety risk assessments and toolset development for satellite launch solutions. Mission analysis and trajectory simulation experience required. Virtual company share program, 30 days vacation.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Mechanical engineering, Computational Engineering / Computational Science or similar
- At least 2 years of experience in mission analysis and/or 3/6 DoF launch trajectories optimization/simulations
- Solid understanding of linear algebra, numerical methods, numerical integration, probabilities distribution (PDF, KDE)
- Proven experience in MATLAB/Simulink environment
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git)
- Capability of presenting complex issues clearly and insightfully
- Highly organized with high attention to detail
- Effective team player, self-sufficient and quick adjustment to changing work environment
- Fluent English
- Experience with DRAMA, ASTOS, STK, etc.
- Experience with toxic release or explosive risk assessments
- Familiarity with regulations and standards such as CFR part 450 and/or RCC 321/FSOA(LOS)
- Experience with Parallel Computing/OpenMP
- Familiarity with Python, Fortran or C++
- Experience with other flight safety relevant topics like Space Debris, Re-entry risk assessments or Collision Avoidance
Tasks
- Perform risk assessments for flight operations
- Contribute to flight safety toolset development
- Conduct simulation and analysis campaigns
- Perform sensitivity analysis on flight safety topics
- Integrate and manage Flight Safety Tools
- Prepare and update flight safety assessment documentation
- Update, optimize, and maintain Flight Safety Tools
- Manage documentation and V&V for Flight Safety Tools
- Coordinate with other teams for mission analysis
