Requirements
- Master’s degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering, or equivalent technical field
- Theoretical foundation in flight mechanics, trajectory dynamics, orbital mechanics, and atmospheric flight
- Understanding of reusability concepts for launch vehicles
- Experience in mission analysis, trajectory simulation, or related GNC/flight dynamics work
- Practical experience with trajectory optimization frameworks, numerical solvers, and simulation environments
- Familiarity with Monte Carlo methods, sensitivity studies, and statistical evaluation
- Background working with crossdisciplinary datasets and integrating them within analysis workflows
- Proficiency with Python
- Strong analytical and mathematical modelling skills
- Ability to work with MBSE-aligned environments and MDO toolchains
- Ability to synthesize complex results into concise documentation and presentations
- Clear communication skills and ability to coordinate with domain experts
- Strong ownership mindset and commitment to delivering high-quality results
- Fluent in English
Tasks
- Model and optimize ascent, reentry, and recovery concepts
- Support ESA reusability studies
- Translate Spectrum test insights into mission-level performance assessments
- Run trajectory optimization and Monte Carlo analyses
- Inform vehicle architecture and flight-dynamics decisions
- Run end-to-end mission and trajectory optimization
- Structure problems for coupled multidisciplinary analysis
- Deliver actionable performance insights for system-level decisions
- Perform trajectory analyses and Monte Carlo simulations
- Assess sensitivity to dispersions, environmental variations, and vehicle uncertainties
- Conduct mission planning and performance assessments
- Develop and execute multidisciplinary design optimization studies
- Explore design space to integrate propulsion, aerodynamics, structures, mass properties, thermal constraints, GNC effects, and operational assumptions
- Compare mission-level outcomes across vehicle configurations and recovery concepts
- Inform architectural trade-offs with data-driven recommendations
- Maintain and evolve mission analysis models and workflows
- Ensure consistent, traceable, reproducible, and scalable setups
- Produce clear, high-quality mission analysis documentation
- Coordinate mission-related inputs with propulsion, structures, fluids, GNC, and systems specialists
- Ensure mission assumptions remain coherent and technically consistent
- Support program-level decisions with structured results and scenario comparisons
