DMU (Digital Mock-Up) Engineer(m/w/x)
Building and maintaining complete DMUs for complex drone systems, including clash and interference analyses. Aerospace/defence DMU management and advanced CAD/PLM tool experience required. VSOP options, relocation support, and temporary accommodation provided.
Requirements
- DMU management and 3D packaging integration for aerospace/defence systems
- Use of advanced CAD and PLM tools (Siemens NX/Teamcenter VisMockup, CATIA, SolidWorks/PDM)
- Resolution of electro-mechanical packaging, tolerancing, routing challenges
- Understanding of assembly processes and manufacturing limitations
- Tracking weight, balance, centre-of-gravity for flight vehicles
- Translating physical vehicle data into configuration recommendations
- Definition and enforcement of 3D modelling standards
- Building organisational rigour into DMU workflows
- Decisive action with minimal guidance
- End-to-end ownership of outcomes
- Initiating solutions without waiting for direction
- Reporting integration risk and DMU status to stakeholders
- Translating spatial conflict data into decision-ready summaries
- Familiarity with virtual maintainability
- Familiarity with assembly sequence validation
Tasks
- Build and maintain the complete DMU for complex drone systems
- Perform regular clash, clearance, and interference analyses
- Drive resolution of spatial conflicts before hardware integration
- Organize and lead cross-functional 3D design reviews
- Provide quantitative assessments of design maturity
- Inform programme milestone decisions using DMU data
- Ensure accurate space allocation and packaging integration
- Simulate virtual assembly sequences for tool accessibility
- Validate maintainability for production and field operations
- Track and analyze critical physical vehicle properties
- Report weight, center of gravity, and mass inertia
- Provide timely, accurate data for configuration trade-offs
- Define and enforce 3D modelling standards
- Document DMU methodologies and data quality requirements
- Ensure CAD and PLM environments remain coherent and audit-ready
