Requirements
- 15+ years experience in Cost Engineering, Sustainability, VM, Procurement, Manufacturing, or Engineering, preferably Automotive
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or Economy
- 10+ years experience in cost engineering, VM, design to cost, manufacturing
- 10+ years experience leading global teams for profitability, sustainability, innovation, time to market
- Proven scientific expertise in semiconductor industry (chip, device, modem, memory)
- Outstanding engaging skills with cross-functional teams and stakeholders for continuous improvement
- Strong negotiation and relationship building skills
- Master’s degree
- Experience with automotive electronics desirable
- Ability to build cross-functional collaboration for sourcing, design, manufacturing improvements in automotive electronics
- Experience in corporate level design to cost/manufacturing programs
- Proven team player with excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
- Change Orientation: adaptable to changing demands and conditions
- German, Chinese, and/or Hungarian language skills are a plus
- Willingness to travel up to 20% (domestic and international)
Tasks
- Define and execute cost and sustainability engineering strategy
- Set profitability, sustainability, and growth goals for HARMAN Automotive
- Establish vision, goals, and methods for profitability and sustainability
- Create highly accurate cost and CO2e models
- Develop lifecycle assessment capabilities for carbon neutrality
- Align profitability and sustainability goals with senior leadership
- Assemble and enable cross-functional teams for profitability and sustainability
- Build cost transparency and competitiveness with executive leadership and suppliers
- Support make versus buy analysis with Controlling, Category, and Operation teams
- Develop advanced sourcing, design to cost, and CO2e reduction strategies
- Create and execute supplier and customer cost negotiation strategies
- Ensure consistent cost and CO2e model development and updates
- Develop synergy programs within Samsung Group
- Lead Component Engineering to create a strategic component library
- Build development strategy for cost-conscious mindset across teams
- Lead, coach, and develop staff through training and succession planning
