Development Engineer(m/w/x)

Requirements

• Strong technical understanding and spatial imagination
• Independent and responsible work ability
• Completed engineering studies with ideally 5 years experience in mechanical component design or equivalent
• Strong proficiency in static pre-sizing of mechanical components with focus on manufacturability
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Inventor preferred, SolidWorks or comparable) with drawing creation and tolerance analysis
• Experience with SAP S/4 HANA in CAD environments
• Basic knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
• Experience in R&D of mechanical parts
• Basic knowledge of electrical engineering and control systems
• Advantageous basic programming knowledge
• Basic knowledge of machine dynamics and vibrations
• Familiarity with project management principles
• Understanding of cost calculation basics
• Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel
• Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
• Desirable German proficiency
• Willingness to travel occasionally to construction sites and suppliers worldwide

Tasks

• Provide technical support for PV product improvement.
• Provide technical support for PV product development.
• Support open area PV-Installation systems.
• Participate in concept ideation.
• Conduct final product testing.
• Prepare product documentation.
• Manage product certification.
• Provide technical support for supply chain setup.
• Address mechanical challenges of PV-Trackers.
• Manage PV-Tracker control systems.
• Optimize PV-Tracker manufacturability and assembly.
• Oversee maintenance of final PV products.
• Propose innovative technical solutions.
• Conduct technical assessments of solution concepts.
• Perform initial mechanical assessments.
• Perform component pre-sizing.
• Perform risk assessments.
• Optimize mechanical components for mass-market.
• Develop system processes for machine operation.
• Develop system processes for production.
• Plan and execute mechanical component testing.
• Plan and execute mechanical system testing.
• Conduct occasional testing abroad.
• Conduct occasional site visits for testing.
• Conduct product engineering investigations on-site.
• Assemble and test prototypes.
• Evaluate prototype test results.
• Create technical statements in German and English.
• Prepare technical documentation in German and English.
• Write technical explanations in German and English.
• Provide technical support for supplier evaluation.
• Provide technical support for certification processes.
• Collaborate with external service providers.
• Support research projects with partners.
