Requirements

  • University degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field
  • Professional certification and/or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years working experience in Product Costing / Cost Analysis
  • Manufacturing environment experience (automotive preferred)
  • Ability to work on global teams
  • Proficient verbal and written communication
  • Solid understanding of cost accounting and methodologies
  • Experience estimating product materials, labor processes, and assembly equipment
  • Broad experience with manufacturing unit cost and capital budgeting
  • Computer literacy, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in ERP systems
  • Familiarity with Microsoft D365 preferred
  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Meet minimum qualifications

Tasks

  • Evaluate financials of internal and external deliverables
  • Ensure ROI and EBIT thresholds are met
  • Collect relevant cost model information
  • Gather BOM from Engineering
  • Obtain component pricing from Purchasing
  • Collect direct labor and plant investments from Manufacturing Engineering
  • Gather project costs from Project Management
  • Retrieve standards from Finance
  • Understand and communicate cost model assumptions
  • Document change history on project profitability
  • Analyze impacts of changes and what-if scenarios
  • Provide input for capital planning
  • Identify and recommend cost reduction potentials
  • Prepare cost breakdowns for customers
  • Maintain database of approved prices and documents
  • Support capital investment reviews and approvals
