Requirements

  • Strong background in motion or behavior planning for robotic/autonomous systems
  • Experience building/deploying robotics or autonomous systems in real-world environments
  • Experience working across team boundaries, especially with perception and vehicle/robotics platforms
  • Deep understanding of system behavior, failure modes, and safety in autonomous systems
  • Ability to reason about architecture, trade-offs, and long-term evolution of planning systems
  • Strong C++ skills with performance-critical and real-time systems experience
  • Experience with learning-based planning, end-to-end networks, VLMs, or AI-driven behavior models
  • Exposure to generative world models or desire to apply transformer architectures to planning
  • Hands-on experience with real vehicles or robots in unstructured/off-road environments
  • Familiarity with simulation, validation, and performance evaluation of planning systems
  • Strong foundation in one area and proven hunger to master the other (foundation models/behavior planning)

  • Shape behavior planning architecture for unmanned vehicles
  • Design for diverse operational design domains
  • Balance safety, performance, robustness, and scalability
  • Integrate classical and AI-based planning methods
  • Collaborate with perception and vehicle platform teams
  • Ensure planned behavior is executable and explainable
  • Define clear interfaces between perception, planning, and control
  • Drive architectural decisions for long-term maintainability
  • Evaluate and prototype AI-based planning solutions
  • Productize AI-based planning solutions
