Requirements
- •Law degree from a recognized European university with a focus on German, Swiss and/or Austrian law
- •Compliance certificate and/or strong experience in Compliance
- •Minimum of 5 years experience in the life science industry or law firm advising pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device businesses
- •Demonstrated experience in German, Swiss and Austrian legal systems
- •Working knowledge in broader EU Compliance regimes
- •Excellent understanding of the pharmaceutical industry practices with solid business acumen
- •Sound general knowledge of commercial legal aspects and laws governing biopharmaceutical companies on a European level
- •Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
- •Strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, ability to operate effectively across multiple jurisdictions
- •Enthusiastic, results-oriented with intellectual curiosity
- •Team-player with ability to set priorities and manage a wide-ranging workload under time pressure
- •Entrepreneurial, enjoys working in a fast-paced, fluid, small-company environment
- •Strong ability to determine the significance of legal issues in the context of business objectives
- •Proactive business-minded lawyer with strong capability to develop problem-solving strategies
- •Fluent in German and English

Tasks
- •Provide strategic legal and regulatory counsel to businesses in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria
- •Draft, review, negotiate, and execute various agreements, including drug distribution and co-promotional agreements
- •Facilitate and manage the use of outside counsel
- •Offer timely legal support on local and international legal, compliance, transactional, and commercial issues
- •Establish a solid governance framework as required by local legislation
- •Ensure compliance with local regulations, including GDPR, Anti-Bribery, and competition law
- •Conduct regular compliance training for affiliates
- •Perform compliance monitoring within the region as directed
- •Review interactions with Health Care Professionals, Government Officials, and Patient Advocacy Groups for compliance
- •Act as the Information Officer in Germany and Austria, and Advertising Responsible Person in Switzerland when possible
- •Support transparency reporting as required by affiliates
- •Ensure business operations comply with applicable laws and internal directives
- •Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation plans to protect company assets
- •Provide daily advice on health law and compliance-related issues
- •Assist Internal Audit as requested by the International Legal Team
- •Investigate potential non-compliance instances in coordination with the Head of Legal and Compliance Europe and Canada
- •Foster the development of the Idorsia Compliance and Legal Program
