- Good understanding/experience in disaster risk reduction/management and climate change adaptation is an asset
- Experience in proposal writing and methodological framework design in development cooperation and actor coordination is an asset
- Work experience in developing countries is an asset
- Fluency in English required
- Knowledge of German is an asset
- Knowledge of another UN official working language is an asset
Tasks
- Lead research and knowledge dissemination on CLIMADA modelling
- Drive innovation in CLIMADA modelling approaches
- Coordinate calibration and validation of CLIMADA methods
- Ensure rigorous optimization for context-specific use cases
- Bridge advanced modeling efforts with project management
- Align modeling outputs with strategic objectives and stakeholder needs
- Integrate modeling results into project planning and monitoring
- Facilitate communication between modeling teams and external partners
- Support project design and management with calibrated models
- Develop tools and workflows for operationalizing modeling results
- Support capacity-building for project teams
- Co-develop new project activities for UNU-EHS
- Support proposal writing for climate risk analytics
- Establish and maintain stakeholder networks
- Lead and co-author scientific publications
- Supervise MSc theses on relevant topics
- Contribute to MSc-level teaching
- Represent the organization at climate risk events
- Perform other duties as assigned
