Requirements

  • Motivation for interdisciplinary and international environment
  • National of EUMETSAT Member States

Tasks

  • Develop machine-learning model architectures for satellite data ingestion
  • Implement models in state-of-the-art regional forecasting systems
  • Contribute to the evolution of multi-encoder-decoder MLWP framework
  • Train and fine-tune models using large-scale meteorological datasets
  • Evaluate model performance across variables and lead times
  • Quantify the impact of satellite data on forecast accuracy
  • Collaborate with scientists, ML researchers, and forecasting teams
  • Ensure forecast outputs meet diverse user needs
  • Disseminate findings through scientific publications
  • Present results at conferences and to partner institutions
