Requirements
- •Basic knowledge of radiation physics and protection principles
- •Experience or strong knowledge with Monte Carlo simulation codes for radiation transport (preferably with FLUKA)
- •Knowledge of a programming language (ideally Python)
- •Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- •Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- •Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language
- •Maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Physics or Energy/Nuclear Engineering (or a related field)
- •Work in Radiation Areas
- •Interventions in underground installations
- •A valid driving licence
Education
Tasks
- •Perform radiation protection studies using the FLUKA Monte Carlo particle transport code
- •Estimate residual radiation levels during interventions
- •Compute activation of beam line components using the ActiWiz tool
- •Focus on collimation insertion regions for radiation protection studies
- •Conduct studies for the upgrade of the SND and FASER experiments
- •Validate Monte Carlo simulation results with existing data analysis scripts and radiation measurements
- •Regularly report findings to your supervisor
- •Produce reports and technical notes
- •Present work in project meetings
- •Share scientific results at conferences and in publications
