Requirements
- •Background in biomedical sciences
- •Interest in tissue engineering
- •MSc degree with excellent marks
- •Experience in cell biology, biochemistry, or bioengineering
- •Practical experience in cell/tissue culture
- •Experience in biochemical and molecular biological analysis techniques
- •Enthusiasm for regenerative medicine
- •Excellent written and oral communication skills
- •Good English language skills
- •Familiarity with cross-cultural/interdisciplinary environment
- •Eligibility for Visa for temporary residence in Switzerland

approx. 1 - 4 years
Tasks
- •Fabricate a mechanically loaded intervertebral disc model
- •Work with 3D bio-printed intervertebral disc models
- •Fit constructs into uniaxial and multiaxial bioreactor systems
- •Culture models under mechanical loading with or without proinflammatory components
- •Design innovative preclinical models to understand disc degeneration
- •Validate models to test new therapies for discogenic low back pain
- •Collaborate with a second doctoral student on the project
- •Engage with project partners from Nantes University and Sorbonne University
