Requirements

  • ISPO-recognized Bachelor of Science degree as Prosthetist-Orthotist
  • Minimum two years professional experience in prosthetic/orthotic service provision
  • Experience working outside home country
  • Additional relevant qualifications (e.g., podiatry, biomechanics, public health) are an asset
  • Strong motivation for humanitarian work
  • Ability to work under pressure in challenging environments
  • Capacity to lead and support multicultural teams
  • Flexibility and adaptability to unstable/resource-limited contexts
  • Experience in international humanitarian settings highly desirable
  • Previous experience within Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is an asset
  • English and French proficiency (minimum B2 level) mandatory
  • Proficiency in Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese or Russian is an asset
  • No assignment to applicant's nationality country (neutrality principle)
  • Medical fitness required prior to deployment
  • Manual driving license mandatory
  • Willingness to accept unaccompanied postings for first 24 months

Tasks

  • Supervise prosthetic, orthotic, and wheelchair services
  • Ensure compliance with ICRC and international standards
  • Mentor national staff and newly graduated professionals
  • Promote best practices with PRP teams
  • Support PRC management in workflow organization
  • Manage PRC stock and supply chain processes
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams
  • Develop service user referral pathways
  • Contribute to new P&O centre setup
  • Monitor and report on rehabilitation needs
  • Analyze and report on programme outcomes
