Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, or related field
  • Minimum 20 years of progressive HSE leadership experience, including at least 10 years in senior management
  • Proven success in managing HSE field-service businesses
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken
  • Ability to design and execute HSE strategies across diverse regions and cultures
  • Skilled in managing ambiguity and making decisions prioritizing health, safety, and environmental integrity
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience driving engagement and cultural transformation in a matrixed, international environment
  • Courage to challenge the status quo and inspire continuous improvement
  • Deep understanding of international HSE regulations and compliance frameworks
  • Willingness to travel as required

Tasks

  • Champion the Hitachi Energy HSE 2030 Roadmap within BU Service
  • Design and execute targeted HSE programs for BU Service activities
  • Promote a culture of learning and continuous improvement
  • Oversee HSE risk management activities, including Control of Work and Incident Management
  • Lead high-risk activity programs such as Electrical Safety and Contractor Management
  • Monitor compliance with internal and external HSE standards
  • Implement the 3 Lines of Defense (3LoD) model for governance
  • Monitor HSE performance using key indicators and provide insights to leadership
  • Oversee investigations of critical incidents and define corrective actions
  • Lead the implementation of the Mind Matters initiative and resilience training
  • Drive environmental risk management activities focusing on SF6 and chemicals
  • Oversee the Service strategy for sustainability and coordinate stakeholder programs
  • Drive workforce planning, training, and competency development for the HSE team
  • Develop succession plans for key roles and promote continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with leaders and HR to enhance employee well-being
  • Represent HSE in internal and external forums to share best practices
