Description

In this role, you will lead the development of CHESS strategies across the oil, energy, and infrastructure sectors, ensuring performance monitoring and risk assurance while promoting safety and compliance. Your daily responsibilities will include collaborating with leaders, driving continuous improvement, and representing the function in key industry forums.

Requirements

• •Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Process Safety, Environmental Sciences, or related field
• •10+ years of CHESS leadership experience in high-risk industries
• •Proven capability in developing and executing corporate-level OHS and PSM programs
• •Strong understanding of international standards (e.g., ISO 45001, API RP 754, CCPS guidelines)
• •Experience working across owned and JV asset structures in global contexts
• •Strategic and systems thinking
• •Expertise in process safety and high-hazard operations
• •Performance monitoring and risk assurance

Tasks

• •Lead the development and execution of CHESS strategy for oil, energy, and infrastructure
• •Monitor performance and ensure risk assurance for portfolio-level CHESS programs
• •Oversee owned operations to ensure operational rigor and corporate standards
• •Manage JV operations with shared accountability for CHESS outcomes
• •Escalate critical risks, major events, and performance deviations to governance structures
• •Promote continuous improvement by sharing incident findings and best practices
• •Align with group-level CHESS frameworks and compliance obligations
• •Design and govern occupational health and process safety standards
• •Champion process safety management programs and barrier management
• •Develop and monitor OH and process safety KPIs and risk-based assurance activities
• •Build organizational capability through training and functional leadership
• •Support strategic planning and embed risk-informed decision-making
• •Provide oversight for internal and third-party CHESS audits and compliance assessments
• •Ensure management systems align with international standards
• •Act as a trusted advisor to Portfolio Managers and senior leaders
• •Drive strategic CHESS engagement in JV settings and support governance
• •Represent the function in corporate forums and industry working groups
