Requirements

  • Initial GIS use, ESRI suite, geospatial data management
  • Initial web-based GIS application development and maintenance
  • Initial development of geospatial information tools and scripts
  • Knowledge of and interest in geodesy
  • Strong GIS software foundations (desktop/server), ESRI suite, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Practical web technologies knowledge (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS), web services (SOAP/REST), Git
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and proactive mindset
  • Spoken and written English or French
  • Commitment to learn basics of other language (French/English)
  • National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
  • Max two years post-graduation experience in Geomatics, GIS, computing or related field
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree
  • Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
  • University degree required
  • PhD holders not eligible

  • Contribute to GIS application administration
  • Operate and support GIS systems
  • Develop GIS web interfaces
  • Share geospatial information
  • Collaborate with Future Collider Studies
  • Ensure reliability of GIS applications
  • Implement web application enhancements
  • Maintain existing GIS web applications
  • Support CERN and external users
  • Perform GIS infrastructure tasks
  • Manage GIS databases
