Administering and developing GIS web interfaces for CERN's Future Collider Studies. Strong GIS software foundations, ESRI suite, Python, and JavaScript/TypeScript required. 30 days paid leave, CERN health insurance, and pension fund membership.
Requirements
- Initial GIS use, ESRI suite, geospatial data management
- Initial web-based GIS application development and maintenance
- Initial development of geospatial information tools and scripts
- Knowledge of and interest in geodesy
- Strong GIS software foundations (desktop/server), ESRI suite, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript
- Practical web technologies knowledge (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS), web services (SOAP/REST), Git
- Attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and proactive mindset
- Spoken and written English or French
- Commitment to learn basics of other language (French/English)
- National of a CERN Member or Associate Member State
- Max two years post-graduation experience in Geomatics, GIS, computing or related field
- Bachelor's or Master's degree
- Never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before
- University degree required
- PhD holders not eligible
Tasks
- Contribute to GIS application administration
- Operate and support GIS systems
- Develop GIS web interfaces
- Share geospatial information
- Collaborate with Future Collider Studies
- Ensure reliability of GIS applications
- Implement web application enhancements
- Maintain existing GIS web applications
- Support CERN and external users
- Perform GIS infrastructure tasks
- Manage GIS databases
