Requirements

  • Experience with AMD/Xilinx tools and FPGAs
  • Software development for bare-metal and embedded Linux
  • Knowledge of analogue/digital PCB design
  • Experience with oscilloscope and phase noise analyser
  • Desirable experience with Linux device drivers
  • FPGA design and simulation using VHDL, Verilog or System Verilog
  • Electronic circuit design based on FPGA or SoC
  • Low-level C programming skills
  • Git-based development and CI pipelines
  • Desirable Python programming and PyTest skills
  • Spoken and written English and commitment to learn French
  • National of CERN Member or Associate Member State
  • Background in Electronics Engineering or related field
  • Master's degree with 2 to 6 years experience
  • PhD with max 3 years experience
  • No previous CERN fellow or graduate contract

Tasks

  • Develop and maintain VHDL-based HDL modules
  • Create simulation test benches using SystemVerilog
  • Assist with post-manufacturing hardware production tests
  • Support hardware design, reviews, and production
  • Build automated hardware tests for CI pipelines
  • Develop low-level software and firmware
  • Collaborate on hardware and software co-design
  • Review Linux device drivers and host applications
